This creation has given us a lot, whose debt we can repay only by growing more and more trees and plants. Anil Paul of Patna does gardening with a similar thinking. In the fast-paced life of the city, few people are able to take care of them by planting saplings. But Anil has created such a beautiful eco-system on the terrace of his apartment, where people get both greenery and birds.
Here he has grown hundreds of trees and plants of fruits, flowers and vegetables. 30 years ago today, when he came to live in this apartment, he was very sorry to have missed the garden of his old house. But they say that where there is a will there is a way! He not only fulfilled his hobby, but also taught others to do gardening. Now many people are growing some plants in their apartment.
The Better India He says, “Those who love nature can love the most. Not only this, you can also manage the wet waste of your house by gardening.
Garden made the roof of the society
Anil, a film and serial director by profession, often shoots small scenes for his serials on his terrace. Many of his friends associated with the film industry also use the greenery of his terrace in their shoots. At the same time, this garden has become a favorite place for the people of the society to spend time in peace. When he started growing saplings here, many people had raised objections. But Anil says, “Many people living in our society are now retired and come to the upstairs garden to spend their evenings. It gives me great pleasure to see this.”
The entire terrace of his apartment is about 4800 square feet, out of which he has planted plants using 1000 square feet. Anil has grown some plants by making a bed two feet above the ground. At the same time, some plants are planted in pots or grow bags. He started with some ornamental plants. After this, he also started growing seasonal vegetables and fruits.
There are many rare plants in the garden

Anil, wherever he goes to visit the country and abroad, he keeps on bringing new plants or seeds from there. Three years ago today, his sister had given him the seeds of Vaijantimala. He planted these seeds in his garden and after about three months the plant also sprouted from those seeds.
Among the fruits, he has trees of black guava, plum, sapota, orange, pomegranate, strawberry, etc. brought to him from Bangkok. He had also planted an orange plant from Nagpur. When he was bringing this plant from Nagpur nursery, he was told by the nursery’s brother that it would not grow in Bihar’s temperature. But after three years of hard work, this year his plant has finally grown fruits.
Apart from this, spices and herb plants like cardamom, betel, basil, lemon grass, curry leaves, bay leaves, carom seeds, turmeric, ginger, garlic are also planted in his garden.
Many birds like sparrow, parrot, bulbul, humming bird come to their terrace every day. He has specially planted a mehndi plant to attract sparrows.

You will also see many rare flowers in his garden including flowering plants like roses, marigolds, hibiscus. In which beautiful bird-shaped flowers, Bird of Paradise, Bleeding Heart and Shami flowers, which have a special place in Hindu belief, are included.
Anil has 18 years old adenium bonsai, which if he wants to sell then people will be ready to buy it by paying thousands of rupees.
Wet garbage has not gone out of the house for 20 years
Anil not only does gardening himself, but also teaches gardening to others. Not having his own private terrace, he initially found it difficult to take care of the plants. He says, “Sometimes people used to take away half raw fruits, lemons etc., pluck the flower buds. But slowly people started asking me about plants. Then many people started planting their own saplings. Now every house has some saplings on the roof.”
Apart from this, Anil also teaches people to do composting. He says that waste management is the biggest challenge in big cities. In such a situation, if everyone makes a garden and prepare compost for it at home, then two or two problems will be solved simultaneously. He has not thrown any wet waste outside the house for 20 years.

His wife also supports him a lot in his gardening work. Both work together like planting all the seasonal vegetables and watering the plants.
There are about 50 indoor plants in his house too. There are some low-light plants in the bathroom, and coriander, spinach and mint etc. in the kitchen.
