Tender allotted after reducing money
Three companies had shown interest in the e-tender issued for the construction of the FOB. The lowest bid of Rs 61 crore in the tender. Neeraj Cement had taken the lead. According to the MMRDA, the FOB will have escalators, stairs, CCTV cameras and security personnel deployed for the safety of passengers. Metro-7 is running on a 16 km route between Andheri (East) to Dahisar (East). Metro-7 has been connected to the Metro-2A corridor running between Dahisar to DN Nagar. About 1.50 lakh passengers are traveling daily on the 35 km route of both the corridors.
210 crore budget for FOB
In the 151st meeting of MMRDA, a budget of Rs 210.71 crore has been approved for the construction of FOB on the route of Metro-7 corridor. MMRDA is working on a plan to attract local commuters to Metro by connecting Metro stations to local trains through FOB. With the construction of the bridge, passengers alighting from the local train will be able to reach the metro station directly. To provide better facilities to the passengers, soon other local train stations will also be connected through FOB.
