According to the information received, the cases of food poisoning started at Jaisalmer’s Jawahar Hospital from around 5 pm. Patients started coming one by one, after that the number of patients increased continuously and soon the patients kept coming, the ward of the hospital was full of patients. Due to the increasing number of patients, along with the trauma center, the corona ward has also been opened for food poisoning patients.
It has been learned that people’s health has deteriorated after eating ‘Bhagar’ (sankh) eaten during the fast. Information is also being received that people have fallen ill after consuming ‘Bhagar’ of a particular brand ‘Manpasand’. The Health Department has warned everyone that for the time being they should avoid eating ‘Bhagar’ of this brand. Food poisoning patients have reached the city as well as from different villages including Deora, Chelak, Ramdevra, Mohangarh, Ramgarh, Rama, Pokaran Ramdevra.
Health deteriorated due to food poisoning
Dr.Rajendra Gill said that due to fasting, people have become ill after eating special type of bhagar. Due to this they are having symptoms of vomiting, dizziness and weakness. Everyone is being admitted and everyone’s treatment is also going on. On getting the same information, the Kotwali police also reached the spot. The police have also swung into action after getting information regarding the incident. Here the health department has also swung into action after this big incident.
Action has been taken under the leadership of Food Inspector Praveen Chaudhary. Shops of wholesalers were raided in the city. Many shopkeepers had gone to their homes after locking their shops before being informed about the food inspector’s raid. The same Food Inspector raided a shop located near Maharana Pratap Maidan in the city, action is on there. According to the information, the health of the people deteriorated after eating a Bhagar named Manpasand. Whether it was expiry date or any other reason, it will be revealed after investigation.
