Now only a few days are left for Diwali and Chhath. Due to increase in the number of passengers going home during the festival, the waiting list of trains has increased. There has also been a huge increase in air fares. The situation is that a day before Diwali on October 11, the air fare from Delhi to Patna is costlier than the flights to Dubai, Bangkok and Kathmandu. Air ticket prices are on fire due to the closure of Go First Airlines, huge demand for tickets and increase in jet fuel prices. According to a travel website, the cheapest flight ticket from Delhi to Patna on October 22 is Rs 7,003. At the same time, around Diwali i.e. on 9th November, the cheapest ticket is available for Rs 12173. Currently, the cheapest ticket price for traveling from Delhi to Patna on 10th November is Rs 14878, while on 11th November you will have to pay Rs 15,823. Whereas SpiceJet is offering direct flight ticket from New Delhi to Bangkok on November 11 for Rs 11,466. Similarly, currently Air India ticket from New Delhi to Dubai for November 11 is available for Rs 13,101. Going to Nepal’s capital Kathmandu by air is also cheaper than going to Patna on 11th November.
Air India is offering Kathmandu ticket for Rs 7,050. On Diwali and Chhath, fares have increased a lot not only in Delhi and Patna but also on many other routes. If you want to go from Mumbai to Patna during Diwali and Chhath festival, then you will have to spend Rs 12934 to Rs 18,152 for the cheapest ticket to travel between November 9 to 17. The fare from Mumbai to Jaipur has also increased from Rs 8739 to Rs 9384 between 9 and 11 November. Bangalore to Patna fare is around Rs 9200 on normal days. On Diwali, the airfare of this route has reached Rs 13,800.
