Election Commission will hold press conference at 12 o’clock, big announcement can be made regarding upcoming assembly elections between Corona

The cases of corona epidemic are increasing continuously in the country. Along with Corona, Omicron is also spreading its feet in the country. At the same time, assembly elections are to be held in many states in the year 2022. In view of the increasing corona cases, there is a demand to postpone the assembly elections. An important meeting of the Ministry of Health and the Election Commission was held on Monday regarding these issues. In which the situation of Corona epidemic and Omicron has been discussed. However, the meeting remained fruitless. The Election Commission had sought a report from the Central Government regarding the Corona cases. Now Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra is going to address the press conference at 12 noon.

Election dates may be announced today

It is being said that the Election Commission may announce the schedule of assembly elections in five states – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa and Punjab. Let us tell you that the announcement of the Election Commission’s press conference comes when a day before, a delegation of the Election Commission has come after a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh. During this, the delegation met district and divisional level officials to review the preparations for the state assembly elections. Giving information, an official spokesperson said that the delegation met District Magistrates, Police Chiefs, Commissioners, IGs, DIGs and other officials and reviewed the preparations for the upcoming elections to ensure free and fair elections.

Government wants to conduct elections between Corona?

Significantly, the corona epidemic in the country is once taking a formidable form. In such a situation, electing or announcing them… is beyond comprehension. Recently, the Allahabad High Court had also suggested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban political rallies and postpone elections. However, there has been no statement from the government on this. The situation regarding Corona in India is worrying and the situation may worsen in the elections. Like it happened in Bengal elections last year. The election rallies between Corona had acted as a corona explosion in the state. Because of which the situation had become uncontrollable.
