The vegetables that we and you are eating as healthy, are they really good for our health? Maybe not. These fruits and vegetables grown using chemicals are very dangerous for us. But knowing all, we are happily feeding these vegetables to our family members. Now you will say that how do we grow our own vegetables in less space and less time in the city?
Thinking like this, most people back off before even trying. But today we are going to introduce you to such a mother. Who decided to take on many small challenges and today she is growing seasonal vegetables organically at home for her family.

They didn’t even have balconies or even a terrace of their own. Despite this, she started with some four flowering plants and today she is taking care of 300 plants.
The Better India She says, “Since I didn’t have the right to the roof alone, I was a bit hesitant initially. Initially some people even refused, but as the plants started growing and greenery started covering the terrace, everyone became happy.
Although Komal lived on the fourth floor at the top, so the idea of growing plants on the terrace came to her mind. She herself used to bring soil, compost etc. up to the ceiling in her apartment without a lift and thus she started growing plants.

When he started gardening, he had no special knowledge of trees and plants. Although his grandfather used to do farming years ago. But his father had never farmed. She used to read and watch newspapers and news channels about chemicals used in agriculture every day, when both her children were very young. He made up his mind to grow vegetables at home for his children out of fear.
She told that she had brought some four flower plants from a nearby nursery. After which he also grew some leafy vegetables by watching from YouTube.
She says, “The information from YouTube is sometimes half-baked. I tried watching from YouTube to make compost and plant some seeds, but I didn’t have much success.
He later learned the course of Terrace Gardening at Surat Agricultural University. He told that this course was like a lottery for him. From here he not only got information about gardening in the right way, but after the course he also became a good gardening group.
10 types of fruits grown in grow bags

Since she does terrace gardening, she has to take care of many small things. Keeping in mind the weight on the roof and the leakage of water, she uses grow bags as much as possible. Komal is currently growing two varieties of dragon fruit, guava, two varieties of pineapple and fruits like mulberry, cherry, cilantro, coconut and pomegranate. At the same time, in vegetables, she has been growing spinach, fenugreek, lettuce, cauliflower, pumpkin, okra etc. regularly for years. She says, “Another reason I grow in a grow bag is that I live in a rented house. I changed home only a month back and shifting was not a problem as the plants were in grow bags.
The roof of Komal’s new house also has about 2000 square feet of space. After much difficulty, he found a house for himself, where he could get a place for gardening.

Children’s immunity increased by eating fruits and vegetables at home
At present, many people have started gardening in Coronakal. So that he can eat healthy food. In such a situation, Komal believes that by eating organic vegetables at home, the immunity of my children has become very good. Since their children have been eating home grown vegetables since childhood, they no longer like the taste of vegetables outside. Komal said, “Home grown vegetables like spinach or fenugreek are easily eaten by children. But they do not like the taste of spinach brought from outside. It’s the same with dragon fruit.”
Apart from eating vegetables grown at home, their children also support them in gardening. Along with fruits and vegetables, she also grows medicinal plants like Giloy, Tulsi, Aloe Vera, Brahmi. Which she also uses in the treatment of minor ailments of children.
