This case between the consumer and the shopkeeper is of 2019. Pawan Kumar, a resident of Shastri Nagar, Jaipur, bought a pair of shoes from Ganpati Collection on 13 July 2019. After buying the shoes, when Pawan saw the price of Rs 329 written on the shoe box, he complained to the shopkeeper. But the seller said to take only 335 rupees.
Complaint in District Consumer Commission, hearing for three years
The customer complained about this wrong attitude of the shopkeeper to the District Consumer Commission III. Complaint was filed and notice was also sent to the shopkeeper on behalf of the commission. But no side was taken in his reply. On this, the commission chairman Kedarlal Gupta and members Seema Sharma, Bhavna Bhati considered charging more amount as unfair trade. Issued orders to refund the excess recovery amount with interest of 9 percent.
Shoes worth Rs 329 18 times more fine
The commission ordered the shopkeeper to give Rs 3000 to Pawan on account of mental and physical pain and Rs 3000 as complaint expenses. This amount has to be paid in one month. Instead of Rs 329 paid to the shopkeeper in lieu of shoes on behalf of Pawan, now more than 18 times i.e. more than Rs 6000 will be returned.
