Aligarh, In the changing environment, garbage is no longer garbage. If a person takes out the wet and dry garbage separately from the house while properly managing the garbage coming out of the house, then the garbage becomes Kanchan from the garbage. The environment also remains protected and safe. The above statement was expressed by District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh during the meeting of District Sanitation Committee and District Management Committee in Collectorate Auditorium. He said that we can keep both our health and environment safe by just changing our behavior. Garbage coming out of temples, public places, railway and bus stations, offices and their homes should be given out keeping wet and dry garbage separately. He said that Mahatma Gandhi used to say that the change you want to see in the world, you must first implement it in yourself.
While presiding over the meeting of the District Sanitation Committee, the District Magistrate said that the allocated funds should be put to proper use. Whatever works are being done in the village, they should be paid immediately. Continuous monitoring should be done by identifying villages with better work and slow progress. RRC centers, drains, silt and filter chambers should be made according to the standard, otherwise they will prove to be white elephants in future. The water coming out of the drain can be used for irrigation by proper management. He appealed that such house owners who have installed submersible pump must get at least 500 liters tank installed at their house.
The DPRO was directed that under the Swachh Bharat Mission Rural Phase-2, out of the selected villages, 35 villages should be made ODF plus by March 30 and the village heads should be honoured. In panchayats where the place for RRC center has not been identified, the place should be identified as soon as possible in coordination with the sub-district magistrates. The DPRO was directed to make the identified villagers aware of cleanliness under ODF Plus and motivate them for the user charge. CDO Akanksha Rana, Joint Magistrate Mrinali Avinash Joshi, PD Bhal Chandra Tripathi, CMO Dr. Neeraj Tyagi, Deputy Director Panchayatiraj Amarjeet Singh, DPO Shreyash Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer Suraj Kumari, BSA Satendra Kumar Dhaka, Assistant Engineer Jal Nigam, Block were present in the meeting.
