CM Yogi Adityanath also gave a last farewell to the country’s first CDS General Bipin Rawat. His body was kept at the residence of CDS Bipin Rawat on Kamaraj Road, Delhi. People had gathered outside his house since morning. Now his body has been taken to the Berar Square crematorium, where he was cremated at 4 pm.
Mulayam Singh and Tikait also paid tribute
Before Yogi, SP Patron Mulayam Singh Yadav and Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait also paid tribute to CDS General Bipin. Significantly, on December 8, 13 people, including CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, died in an army helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. CM Yogi had condoled his death on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister had tweeted, ‘Deeply saddened by the death of CDS (Chief Defense Chief) General Bipin Rawat ji and his wife in the unfortunate accident in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Rawat ji will always be remembered as an outstanding military officer. His untimely demise is an irreparable loss to the nation.
Yogi had said in another tweet, ‘The death of military officers and personnel in a helicopter crash today is extremely sad. The devoted sons of Mother Bharati, who died untimely, will always be alive in the memories of the nation. My condolences are with the bereaved family. May Lord Shri Ram give place to the departed souls in the supreme abode. Peace!
