He said that the complete postmortem report is awaited. One of the 12 cheetahs, named ‘Uday’, who was shifted from South Africa to Madhya Pradesh’s KNP, died on Sunday at the age of six. Significantly, this is the second such incident in KNP in about a month. Earlier, out of eight cheetahs brought to KNP from Namibia, a cheetah named ‘Sasha’ died on March 27 due to kidney ailment.
Thus the total number of cheetahs brought to KNP from Namibia and South Africa has come down to 18 from 20. However, another cheetah named Siya recently gave birth to four cubs at KNP. It is also reportedly being said that another cheetah is pregnant in Kuno. Good news may come soon. However, the forest officials have not yet confirmed this.
