Ministry issued circular
According to the circular of the ministry, the restrictions on the capacity to operate domestic flights have been removed and passengers will be allowed to sit with 100% capacity. Earlier, only 80% seats were allowed to travel. In view of the festive season, the Union Aviation Ministry had allowed all domestic flights to fly with 100% capacity from October 18. Many people will benefit from this decision and they will be able to come anywhere easily.
This restriction will remain in force
The government order also said that the Covid-19 protocol will be strictly followed and some other restrictions like minimum and maximum fare cap on domestic flights will remain in force. Apart from this, let us tell you that now you will not be provided or sold food in a journey of less than 2 hours. From the time when the second corona wave knocked in India, the government had banned food service and its sale in domestic flights traveling less than 2 hours.
Domestic flight started after lockdown
Lockdown was announced across the country from 24 March 2020 due to Coronavirus. After which all domestic flights were closed. After about 2 months, it was announced to resume domestic flights from 25 May 2020. The Aviation Ministry had allowed all airlines to fly with 33% passengers. After that gradually this percentage was increased to 80 till December 2020.
International passenger flights suspended
All international passenger flights are suspended from 23 March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. For your information, let us tell you that special flights have been allowed under the ‘air bubble’ arrangement with about 28 countries in India. Under the system of air bubble, airlines of one country are allowed to operate limited international passenger flights in another region with specific restrictions.
