The CBI has started the investigation of the famous Manish murder case of Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. In connection with the investigation, the CBI team reached Gorakhpur on the third on Sunday. On Tuesday, many important people related to this incident, who could not be interrogated. The team is also investigating other facts by questioning them and in a confidential manner. On December 15, there is also a court appearance of 6 policemen accused of murder. It is being told that the team will also request for extension of judicial custody of the accused. Earlier, the CBI had recorded the statements of all the accused in jail after taking permission from the court.
According to the information, 2 members of the CBI team reached Gorakhpur on Sunday evening. Earlier, a 4-member team had come to Gorakhpur, questioned all the people in the case of Manish’s death. The accused, Inspector JN Singh, Akshay Mishra, Rahul Dubey, Head Constable Kamlesh Yadav, Vijay Yadav, Prashant were interrogated by the CBI in jail for a long time. In the earlier appearance also, the CBI had filed an application in the court requesting for extension of judicial custody of the accused.
CBI will take the accused on remand if needed
However, the entire matter related to the trial is to be run in the CBI court. On the basis of the statement taken in the jail, if needed, the CBI can also take the accused on remand. With this, the CBI can file them in the court. Kanpur-based property dealer Manish Gupta died on the night of 27 September at Hotel Krishna Palace in Gorakhpur. Manish’s friends allege that he has died due to the injury caused by the beating of the police. On the complaint of Manish’s wife, a case of murder has been registered against six policemen who went to check in the hotel. The wife had questioned the investigation of Gorakhpur police, after which the government handed over the investigation to SIT Kanpur.
