New Delhi. Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra’s troubles are showing no signs of ending. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started investigation against Mahua Moitra in the cash for query case. CBI sources gave this information on Saturday.
A senior CBI officer said no preliminary investigation (PE) has been registered. However, investigation has been initiated as the case was referred by the anti-corruption body Lokpal. The CBI officer told news agency ANI that we are investigating the case which was referred to us by the Lokpal. We still have to collect more information in this matter.
What is the whole matter?
Let us tell you that the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha has recommended the cancellation of Mahua Moitra’s Parliament membership. In fact, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had accused the Trinamool MP of taking money from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in Parliament and asking questions. After which the Ethics Committee is investigating the allegations against him. It should be noted that the BJP MP had approached the Lokpal with a complaint against Mahua Moitra. Nishikant Dubey had also accused Mahua Moitra of compromising national security for money.
Nishikant Dubey had accused the Trinamool MP of asking questions in the Lok Sabha to target Adani Group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the behest of Hiranandani in exchange for gifts. However, Mahua Moitra denied any involvement in any wrongdoing and claimed that she was being targeted.
