New Delhi, October 11 (Hindustan Reporter) The Central Government has decided to form an autonomous organization named Mera Yuva Bharat (My India). Its objective is to awaken the sense of service and duty among the youth and utilize them in the interest of the country and society. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday approved the setting up of an autonomous body.
Giving information about the decisions of the Cabinet, Union Minister Anurag Thakur told in a press conference at the National Media Center that it will be launched on October 31, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. This body will act as a comprehensive enabling mechanism driven by technology for youth development and youth led development while providing equal access to youth.
Anurag Thakur said that the primary objective of My Youth India (My India) is to create a complete government platform for youth development. By accessing resources and connecting with opportunities, youth will become community change agents and nation builders. It wants to harness the immense youth energy for nation building. This platform is for the youth with service, duty and positive spirit.
As per the definition of ‘youth’ in the National Youth Policy, youth in the age group of 15-29 years will get the benefit. Beneficiaries in the programs specifically designed for adolescents will be in the age group of 10-19 years.
This will develop leadership skills with experience. This will increase youth activism. There will be better coordination between youth aspirations and community needs. This will help in taking the existing programs forward. This platform will act as a one stop shop for young people and ministries. A centralized youth data base will be created in this. Will provide a two-way mechanism to link government initiatives and activities of other stakeholders. This will ensure access to youth while creating a physical ecosystem.
