Many people find gardening difficult. At the same time, some people are unable to do gardening due to lack of space in the metros, even if they want. Nowadays the problem of lack of space has increased even in small towns.
So why should we not plant trees? It is absolutely wrong to think so. Gardening experts believe that if you have a passion for plants, then you can make your own small garden even in less space. By choosing the right place, pot and plant, you can prepare your small garden.
There are many plants that grow well even in low sunlight. Apart from this, artificial lights for plants are also present in the market nowadays, which can be used for the growth of plants. Although all these tools are a bit expensive, as an alternative, you can also use a normal tube light or bulb.
Thane-based gardening expert, Annette Mathew says that she has planted around 300 saplings in her 8×10 balcony. He says that it is very important to plant the right plants according to the right lighting. Choose plants according to the amount of sunlight coming into your balcony or house. She also uses tube lights to give the right light to the plants.
For balconies with bright east direction, plant herbs like basil, oregano, oregano, rosemary in small containers. Also small flowering plants, such as petunia, portulaca oleracea, portulaca grandiflora, etc., can be planted in hanging pots. Apart from this, you can also grow some vegetables like spinach, coriander and tomato in small pots of six inches.
For low-light balconies in the north-east direction, you should plant varieties of leafy plants, such as begonia, aglaonemas, dracen, monstera, rubber plant, snake plants, sweet potato vine, English ivy, ZZ plant. Annette says ginger and garlic also thrive in low-light conditions. It does not require a large pot.

At the same time, even if you do not have a balcony in your house, you can still plant some plants. Annette said, “My brother does not have a balcony in his house, yet he has 120 plants in his house. For which he has planted saplings in those parts of the house where sunlight comes from the window for two-three hours a day. You can use the space near the window to keep the pot.
Like Annette, Sumita Singh of Meerut also does gardening in her 7 feet balcony. He started building his garden five years ago. Today there are about 200 plants in his garden. She comfortably plants cherry tomatoes, capsicum, coriander etc. along with herbs and indoor plants. He says, “If you are making a garden in a small space, then you have to replace the plants from time to time. So that all the plants get sunlight.
