The case pertains to a Jhaua village under Bihiya police station area of the district, where the police raided the house of Hareram Singh, the head of Belvania Panchayat and a resident of Jhaunwa village on the basis of a tip-off. During the raid, the police arrested five people, including the brother of the chief’s husband.
According to the information, before the election of Shahpur block, the Bihiya police got information that liquor was being distributed on behalf of the husband of the head of Belvania Panchayat. After this, the police, taking quick action, raided the house of head husband Hareram Singh, resident of Jhauwa village. During the raid, the police have arrested five people including the head husband brother. At the same time, during the raid, the police have recovered 2 semi automatic rifles, 2 pistols, 100 live cartridges, 2 open bottles of rum and 40 small liquor bottles of Uttar Pradesh from the spot. While on the other hand the head husband has absconded from the spot.
