On Friday, the traffic police issued an advisory stating that the Benito Juarez Marg underpass adjacent to DU’s South Campus is being closed for a week in view of the repair work being initiated by the PWD. During this time this underpass will be completely closed for all types of traffic. During this time the traffic going towards the underpass will be diverted towards the slip road. The closure of the underpass may increase traffic on the Benito Juárez route, causing inconvenience to commuters and increasing travel time. In view of this, the traffic police has advised the people going towards the airport, bus stand, railway station to take extra time to walk.

Suggesting alternate routes, the traffic police said that people coming from Gurugram and Dwarka who go towards Chanakyapuri via Benito Juarez Marg via Outer Ring Road, may take Rao Tularam Marg, Moti Bagh and Shanti Path till the underpass is closed. go through Similarly, people going from Chanakyapuri towards Gurugram and Dwarka have also been advised to use Shanti Path, Moti Bagh and Rao Tularam Marg instead of San Martin Marg. In view of the possibility of traffic in the area being affected due to the closure of the underpass, additional traffic staff is also being deployed here.
