Jammu, Aug 7 (PTI) The Army has started six weeks of pre-recruitment training under the Agneepath scheme in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district. An army officer gave this information on Sunday. “The six-week long training program is aimed at preparing the youth aspiring to join the Army for physical, medical and written examinations. On the opening day, the candidates were explained about the Agneepath scheme in detail,” he said.
The Agneepath scheme, announced on June 14, provides for the recruitment of youth in the age group of 17-and-a-half to 21 years in the army for four years, out of which 25 per cent will be selected for regular service after four years.
