Mathura, At IndianOil Mathura Refinery, Ajay Kumar Tiwari has taken charge as the new Executive Director/Refinery Head of Mathura Refinery. An Electrical Engineer from GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Nainital, Ajay Kumar Tiwari started his career in the year 1992 at IndianOil Gujarat Refinery as Graduate Apprentice Engineer.
With over three decades of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, he has made significant contributions in the areas of Mainstream Operations, Refining, Technology Upgradation, Process Innovation and Project Management. He is also an expert on captive thermal power plants operated at IndianOil’s refining units with practical experience at Gujarat and Panipat Refinery. As Head of the Department of Electrical Maintenance during the initial years of Panipat Naptha Cracker Complex, his contribution was instrumental in stabilizing the plant as one of the most technologically advanced units in India. Prior to taking over as Executive Director and Refinery Head, Mathura Refinery on March 2, 2023, Tiwari was holding the responsibilities of Chief General Manager (Projects) at Barauni Refinery and the mega BR-09 to increase the capacity of the country’s second oldest refinery. Leading the expansion project. During his tenure at Barauni Refinery, he made significant achievements and led his team, which included setting up of Indjet unit, first in Asia and third in the world, for production of ATF with Make in India technology under Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign. Includes installation of green cooling towers. Net Zero resolution, production and commissioning of new CCRU with hydro-treating and naphtha splitter units to enhance the profitability of the refinery. Shri Tiwari is known for his cutting edge technical expertise, Power Reliability Task Force formation and compliance and end to end project management. A darling of the masses, Mr. Tiwari is a true motivator and strength of his team, keeping a sharp eye on the corporation’s goals. Shri Tiwari has succeeded Debjit Gogoi. He has been transferred as Unit Head, Digboi Refinery.
