New Delhi (HS). AIIMS-SBI Digital Patient Care Card was launched today by Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya in the presence of Dr M Srinivas, Director, AIIMS New Delhi and Manjeet Singh, General Manager, SBI.
On this occasion, the Health Minister described this as an important step for Digital India and said that this is the first step towards “One Nation, One AIIMS, One Card”. With this card one can pay any healthcare service charges including canteen at AIIMS New Delhi. A patient can deposit amount in this card and recharge it at various points in different blocks of AIIMS. Soon it will be extended to other 22 AIIMS of the country also.”
“Many patients come from far away places and bring cash with them for various services,” he said. Now all transactions will be cashless and using this card. The balance on the card will be transferred back to the patient's account upon completion of treatment. He said that this will prove to be a game-changer in patient care.
AIIMS-SBI Smart Payment Card is available free of cost. After the patient is admitted to AIIMS, he will be issued a card. This card will be given using the patient's Aura number or the unique identification number given in the hospital. Once activated this card provides 24 hours cashless payment facility at various cash counters for all services in the institution.
