On the other hand, the emergency of two thousand notes is also visible in the bullion market, here also these big notes are being seen. People are bringing Rs 2,000 notes to repay their huge loans. Significantly, RBI has clearly said that Rs 2,000 notes can be exchanged by the general public from May 23 to September 30 by visiting bank branches, or can be deposited in their accounts. According to sources, the news of Rs 2,000 note being withdrawn from circulation has stirred up cricket betting bookies and property traders. Because both of them mostly transact their business with big notes i.e. 2000 notes only. Sources reveal that due to the IPL cricket series these days, crores of rupees are deposited with the cricket betting bookies in the form of Rs 2,000 notes only. Due to the stop of circulation of notes in the market, now he is trying hard to settle these notes.
If insider sources are to be believed, the betting bookies, after meeting with their agents, have decided that Rs 2,000 notes will not be taken from the bettors in the ongoing IPL series. But if he wins, he will be given half of the winning amount in the form of two thousand notes. It is also discussed that the Dhankuberos who have deposited two thousand notes in the form of crores, are once again in contact with the people of Mumbai like at the time of demonetisation.
