Tuesday turned out to be a tiring day for the bulls as profit-booking at higher levels resisted all attempts to reach higher levels. This stopped the pace. As a result, the Nifty50 index closed the day’s high at 18,056. The advance-decline ratio for the Nifty index was even-even ie 1:1.
Sectoral index status
Talking about the performance of sectoral indices, Nifty Energy, Nifty IT and Nifty Realty were the top three gainers, while on the other hand, Nifty Metal, Nifty FMCG and Nifty PSU Bank were the top three losers. The market saw some stock-specific action in the last leg of trading and some stocks recovered from their lows to support the market. Recovery from lower levels suggests strong buying areas and is likely to trend in the next day.
Shares recovered from day’s low
– Federal Bank
– Gujarat Fluorochemicals
– Shriram Transport Finance Company
