Reasons for hike in petrol and diesel prices
At present, the main reason for the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel across the world is Brent crude, whose price is increasing continuously. Brent crude is an important part of the Indian crude basket, coupled with the tax levied on oil by the government, which is driving up its prices. Due to lack of supply, the price of crude oil in the international market has reached $ 85 per barrel at present, this is the highest level of crude oil in the last three years. On the other hand, the government has clearly agreed to reduce the tax on oil, due to which the price of petrol and diesel is continuously rising.
