Last date extended
An official of the Finance Ministry, on the condition of anonymity, said, “Granting the moratorium till September 15 has ensured that the date for filing income tax returns will have to be extended. Already, we have a lot of pending return work. There were a lot of problems due to the error in the website. Now it is not possible to settle all this in just 15 days.
Last year the date was extended
In fact, last year due to the Corona crisis, the central government extended the date for filing income tax. The last date for filing returns for the financial year 2021-2022 has been extended from July 31 to September 30.
