DNP Desk: A big decision has been taken today for the central government employees and pensioners. In the meeting of Modi cabinet held on Thursday, good news has been given to the central employees before Diwali. As a Diwali gift for them, it has been decided to increase the dearness allowance. In the cabinet meeting, it has been decided to increase the dearness allowance of central employees by 3 percent. A further increase of 3 percent in Dearness Allowance means that now the Dearness Allowance (DA) will be 31 percent. However, this increased new rate will be applicable from July 1.
Let us tell you that more than one crore employees have benefited from this decision of the government. It is worth noting that in July this year itself, the government had increased dearness allowance by 11 percent to 28 percent. Earlier, dearness allowance was being paid at the rate of 17%. Let us tell you that the increase in dearness allowance by 3 percent means that now the dearness allowance will also be 31 percent. In fact, the Labor Ministry had released the figures of the last three months of AICPI. These included the numbers of June, July and August. The AICPI index has reached 123 points in August. From this it was indicated that the government can make further progress in dearness allowance. On the basis of this, dearness allowance of central employees is decided.
With the increase in dearness allowance, other alliances will also increase. This includes Travel Allowance and City Alliance. Provident find for retirement and graduation will also increase. Under the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission, dearness allowance and dearness relief for central employees and pensioners are revised twice a year, in January and July. But due to Covid-19, there was no change in the last three installments and hence the government had increased the rates by 11 percent from July, 2021.
