History of Trinetra Ganesh Temple
Trinetra Ganesh Temple has historical importance. According to one belief, when the fort of Ranthambore was besieged by the Mughals for a long time, there was a shortage of ration in the fort and the road carrying goods was also blocked by the Mughals. In such a situation, King Hamir started feeling defeated, it is said that Lord Ganesha appeared in his dream and asked him to worship him. The next day the king found an engraved idol of Lord Ganesha with three eyes on the walls of the fort. In this way, he established the idol by building a temple in the fort itself. The temple is said to be the first Ganapati temple in India. The fair of ‘Ganesh Chauth’ is being held since the time of Chauhan kings.
