Ever since the whole world has been hit by the corona pandemic, the cases of anxiety and depression have also increased. Meanwhile, the national capital-based AIIMS (AIIMS) has developed two mobile apps for patients suffering from chronic mental illness and their caregivers. These apps will be beneficial for people suffering from serious mental illnesses as well as those who have recently been diagnosed with symptoms related to the disease.
These 2 apps have been given the name Saksham and Direction
Let us know that these two apps have been named Saksham and Disha. Which is both for those who have recently been diagnosed with such symptoms and for those who suffer from serious mental illness. He said that the Saksham app is for those who are suffering from chronic mental illness, while the Disha app will benefit those who are going through the first episode of such symptoms. Both the apps have been developed in collaboration with the Computer Science departments of Indraprastha Institute of Technology, Delhi and University of Warwick, UK. The project is funded by the UK’s National Institute of Health Research.

The app will understand the needs of the patient
Both these apps Saksham and Disha will be more beneficial for patients suffering from serious mental illnesses as well as those who are in the early stages of the disease or are still showing symptoms. The patients on whom AIIMS psychiatrists did the app trial, their results were good. According to Mamta Sood, a psychologist posted in AIIMS, both these apps will understand every need of the patients and will be able to record their daily lifestyle, their deficiencies. This will benefit both the doctor and the patient. The patients who are going through these troubles will be more benefited.
