The government is constantly emphasizing on the vaccination campaign to get rid of the corona epidemic. So far, the vaccine is available for everyone above 18, but the vaccine for young children has not yet come in the market. Trials on children’s vaccine are going on for the last several months. Now it is being said that soon the vaccines for children will be available in the market. According to media reports, Cadila Healthcare will launch the children’s vaccine Zycov-D next month. ZyCoV-D is India’s first DNA based vaccine which was in the works for a long time. It is also being said that Zydus Cadila is going to start making 1 crore doses every month from October.
DNA based vaccine
The world’s first DNA-based COVID-19 vaccine, ZyCoV-D, received emergency use approval from Indian regulators last month. India has 6 vaccines to fight the corona epidemic, one of which is Zydus. Zydus Cadila is the world’s first plasmid DNA-based vaccine that will be used as a vaccine for people over the age of 12. It will have three shots. This vaccine will be for children of 12-18 years only. However, there has been no response from the Ministry of Health on this yet. Zydus Cadila is the only vaccine approved for children.

Apart from Zydus Cadila, Bharat Biotech’s Covaccine trial is also being done on children for a long time. Now the trial has reached the third phase. Apart from this, Serum Institute of India is also testing Kovavax on children in the age group of 2 to 12 years. However, something can be said only after the final result is out. Zydus Cadila is 77 percent effective against corona virus. So far the vaccine results have been good. Significantly, the committee constituted by the government has already said that it is necessary to vaccinate children at the earliest, especially young children.
