US On Nijjar Murder: Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met his US counterpart Antony Blinken on Friday (September 29) amid ongoing tensions with Canada. According to reports, there was no discussion on the issue of Khalistan and Canada between the two leaders.
America dashes Canada’s hopes
The unique aspect is that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been trying to get American support since the beginning of this matter, which he does not seem to be getting. Now after the meeting between Jaishankar and Blinken, Canada has again suffered a shock. Because, Trudeau had claimed that Blinken would raise the issue of Nijjar’s murder during his meeting with the Indian Foreign Minister, but it did not happen.
Many issues including defense cooperation were discussed
According to media reports, Jaishankar and Blinken talked about many important topics including space exploration and defense cooperation. This was the first meeting of the two leaders after the G-20 summit in the capital Delhi. After this meeting, in a joint press conference he announced that India is going to hold a meeting with America soon. However, he did not comment on the dates. There is a possibility that this meeting between the two countries may take place in the first week of November. No information has been revealed yet about what will be discussed in the meeting.
Blinken refuses to answer on Nijjar’s murder
According to news agency PTI, both sides did not talk about the ongoing diplomatic crisis between India and Canada. The US Secretary of State declined to answer when asked about the crisis. Let us tell you that Khalistani terrorist Nijjar was murdered in Surrey, Canada in June. However, after Trudeau’s allegations, America responded by asking India to cooperate in the investigation.
