Central government sent a team of experts
The Central Government has also sent a team of experts to help the State Government on Tuesday. In view of the increasing cases, the state government has issued an alert in Dakshina Kannada district. The District Magistrate has issued orders to close all educational institutions, Anganwadis and banks there. Apart from this, only shops selling medicines and essential goods have been allowed to open from 7 am to 5 pm.

While giving information on behalf of the state government, Health Minister Veena George has said that the first death due to Nipah occurred on August 30 and the second death occurred on September 11. After which samples of the deceased were taken and sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune. Also, the state government had sent samples of 4 more people, out of which 2 people have been found infected. One of them is around 9 years old and the other is 24 years old.
Earlier, the Chief Minister himself has informed the people by tweeting that, “Nipah virus infection has been confirmed in Kozhikode district, out of the four people whose saliva was sent for test by the government, 2 people have been found infected and 2 people have tested negative for Nipah virus. Is negative. The Chief Minister has appealed to the people not to panic but to exercise patience.
