Mumbai. Ahead of Mother’s Day (May 12), actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has pledged to save the life of every newborn by spreading awareness about child health care and immunization.
Kareena was present at the third edition of Radio4Child Awards 2019 on Friday. It is an initiative taken by UNICEF.
Kareena said, “This Mother’s Day, I want to take a pledge to keep each and every child alive. Every child, wherever or whatever situation they are born in, must survive and this is where the UNICEF hashtag EveryoneChildAlivecampaign begins.”
Kareena also said, “It’s great to see how radio jockeys from all parts of the country are involved in educating people, joining this campaign, spreading the message of the campaign, spreading awareness about child health and immunization. A lot of hard work was done to understand the importance of this and especially to bring all these things to the women who have just become mothers.
Kareena also said that we have the power to reach out to the people.
Kareena is very happy to be a part of Radio4Child Awards 2019.
Some radio jockeys including Pradeep Haldar, Dr. Gagan Gupta also participated in this program. These radio jockeys were also felicitated for taking the message to the people against routine immunization and child abuse.
Kareena said, “When I gave birth to Taimur (his son)… in the initial days I had a discussion with my doctor on how I can protect him from diseases and then the doctor gave me a vaccination. List given.
Continuing her talk, Kareena said, “Since then I have been following him, but this time my heart wanted to reach out to all the mothers across the country who might not be aware of the necessary vaccinations for their children. .”
The award ceremony also celebrated 70 years of UNICEF in India.
