Chandrayaan-3: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is trying to wake up the lander and rover of Chandrayaan-3. This effort will be made till 22 September. Even though ISRO is waiting for the signal from the lander and rover, in the meantime ISRO has given a big update regarding the mission. ISRO has received signals from other instruments of the mission.
This payload sent is still working
According to the space agency, these signals have been received from the payload mounted on the orbiter carrying the lander and rover. ISRO said that the orbiter is still revolving around the Moon and will continue to do so. According to ISRO, it will take some time to stop sharing knowledge about the Moon and Earth.
Payload will continue to send data to ISRO
ISRO said that they have received a large amount of data from the Spectro Polarimetry of Habitable Planets (SHAPE) payload mounted on Chandrayaan’s orbiter. Apart from this it will work normally for a long time. Exoplanet research will benefit from the information obtained from this. Exoplanets are planets that are not part of our solar system but that revolve around another star. They could also be from some other galaxy.
ISRO is continuously working on the mission
According to a report in The Times of India, ISRO chief S. Somnath reportedly told that SHAPE can be used only when there is good visibility from Earth. Whatever information SHAPE transmits is very useful for research.
The fact that these figures remain stable over time is a plus. He claimed that the payload sent a lot of data and would continue to operate for a very long time. Analyzing these data and discovering new information could take several months, he said. He said that ISRO is continuously working on the mission.
