What was the turning point?
Akshay tells that one day while scrolling the phone, I saw some weight transformation on a fitness app. She forced me to look at myself in the mirror and that’s when I realized that I had neglected my body and my health a lot. I remembered my college time when I used to be very active. But now my body weight was 101 kg and full of fat.

I consumed low calorie, high fiber and protein foods at the rate of 2 grams per kilogram. Also drank 5 liters of water every day to stay hydrated.
Akshay says that I give the credit of my initial fitness to home workouts. During this, I used to walk daily to increase the activity level of my body. After that I slowly started strength training in the gym. and worked out six times a week using body weight strength training. Also every day, I did 2000 rope skips and 10K step walking.
How did obesity increase?
Akshay explains that my weight was out of control due to my bad lifestyle, eating habits and IT job. Because due to work stress, I started eating a lot. Also, I was not able to spare enough time to do workouts. This was the time when I was giving more priority to my job than health.
I am a person who loves food. But I thought a lot about my health during the lockdown. After which I realized that health can be brought back on track by paying attention to eating habits. And that’s what happened when I started eating only home-cooked food.
What lifestyle changes did you make to reduce obesity?
Talking about the changes he made in his schedule, Akshay says, ‘I started taking quantified nutrition and 8 hours of sound sleep daily for fitness. Apart from this, despite being busy with my job, I also made home-cooked food and regular workouts a part of my habits.
What was the hardest part of being overweight?
Akshay says that after being a victim of obesity, I was not able to accept my own body in the mirror. Along with this, I used to have a lot of difficulty in doing physical activity, which left me broken inside.
