Delhi – Delhi
The capital of India, New Delhi is often referred to as the “Delhi of the Heart”. This is a place that will always remain in the hearts of people. With its long history of empire’s succession from the Delhi Sultanate to the Mughals and then the British, the city today stands as one of the fastest developing cities in the world. Delhi is known for its many beautiful places like Red Fort, India Gate, Qutub Minar. Also, this city is also known for its spice market i.e. Khadi Baoli located in Chandni Chowk. 100 years ago the Red Fort looked like this.
Maharashtra – Maharashtra
Often referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Heart of India’, Maharashtra is the third largest and second most populous state in the country. Due to being near the Western Ghats, you will get to see beautiful views of the mountains on one side here. Ancient forts and ruined palaces at Pune and Ratnagiri tell the story of the then ruler of Maharashtra. The centuries old temples located in places like Pandharpur, Ojar are still surrounded by their traditions. Also, hill stations like Mahabaleshwar, Lonavala, Matheran leave no stone unturned in enhancing the glory of Maharashtra. You are looking at the Gateway of India in the picture. Let us tell you, the Gateway of India was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen-Empress Mary, who was the first British monarch to visit India.
Uttar Pradesh – Uttar Pradesh
One of the Seven Wonders of the World and home to a wide variety of handicrafts and jewellery, Uttar Pradesh is a prosperous and purely religious state. It is also surrounded by some of the most beautiful monuments and cultural sites in India. The state of Uttar Pradesh is also known for its Nawabi cuisine, with sumptuous street foods like samosas and kachoris adding to the elegance of the place. Uttar Pradesh, the land of Rama, Lord Krishna, Buddha and the Taj Mahal, is rich in diversity. The picture shows the Taj Mahal, which was built by Shah Jahan in the 15th century.
Punjab – Punjab
Located in the north-western part of India, Punjab means the land of five rivers. Famous for its food, culture and history, Punjab is visited by tourists who want to know the culture here. Also, there is no answer to the food here, Chole Bhature and Lassi are the main dishes here. Punjab, the land of farms and forts, is called the ‘Smiling Soul of the Country’. In the pictures you can see the Golden Temple, the most important temple in Sikhism is located in Amritsar, which is also known as Harmandir Sahib i.e. the house of God.
Kolkata – Kolkata
Kolkata is the second largest city of India. Known as the City of Joy, Kolkata is in every sense the art and culture capital of the country. Kolkata is also famous for its many ancient buildings. Along with this, you will also find one to one shopping market here, where you can also shop cheaply. In the picture there is a place called ‘Rast of Ghorstan’, the history of this famous route in Kolkata can be seen from 1760.
