Aryan Khan, lodged in Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail in the cruise drugs case, has got bail after 26 days. His father Shahrukh Khan’s birthday is on 2nd November. Therefore, this order of the court can be considered as an advance birthday gift for Shahrukh. He will now be able to celebrate his birthday with son Aryan.
Apart from Aryan, the court has also granted bail to Munmun Dhamicha and Arbaaz Merchant. However, due to non-receipt of the copy of the order from the court, the trio will be released till Friday or Saturday.
NCB opposes bail
The hearing began at 3 pm in the Bombay High Court on Thursday. At around 4.45 pm, the court gave its verdict in this matter. Opposing the bail of the accused, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Anil Singh argued on behalf of the NCB, but the court granted bail to the accused.
The ASG told the court that the evidence can be tampered with if Aryan is granted bail. Aryan has been taking regular drugs for the last few years. Records show that he has been providing drugs to many people. From the quantity of drugs found, it is clear that he has been in contact with drug smugglers.
No recovery of drugs from Aryan: Rohatgi
During the hearing, Aryan Khan’s lawyer Mukul Rohatgi said in the court that no reason has been given for Aryan Khan’s custody. Along with this, recovery of drugs has not been done from Aryan, so his arrest is completely wrong. During the debate on Tuesday, former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi had argued that Aryan Khan is a young boy, so he should be sent to a correctional home instead of jail.
