The teaser of Yash Raj Films’ first web series ‘The Railway Man’ has been released. Its story is based on the gas tragedy that occurred in 1984 in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. R Madhavan, KK Menon, Divyendu Sharma and Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan are seen in the teaser.

In the series, Madhavan will be seen in the role of Rati Pandey, General Manager of Central Railway. Whereas KK Menon remains the station master. Apart from this, Divyendu is playing the role of a constable and Babil is playing the role of a loco pilot. It is shown in the teaser that all four are engaged in saving lives of people on the night of the tragedy.
Will be released on Netflix on November 18
This 4 episode series will stream on Netflix on November 18 on the occasion of Diwali. It is directed by debutant director Shiv Rawail and the story is written by Ayush Gupta. The series was announced by Yash Raj Films in 2021.
Nearly 4 thousand people lost their lives
In the year 1984, on the night of 2-3 December, there was leakage of poisonous gas from the Union Carbide factory located in Bhopal. Water started mixing with poisonous methyl isocyanide gas in tank number 610 in plant number ‘C’ of the factory.
After this, due to the chemical reaction, the tank opened due to pressure and the poisonous gas started dissolving in the air. About 4 thousand people lost their lives in this tragedy. At the same time, many families have been suffering the effects of this poisonous gas for generations.
