I was destined to be a part of ‘Taj…’
I didn’t even get a chance to audition earlier in ‘Taj: Divided by Blood’. I have a friend in Zee-5. I was telling him for three years that if something better comes, I will tell. Suddenly he got a call and told that there is a role but it is already finalized but I want to show him your audition once. I sent him an audition but didn’t get a call for two weeks. Felt that like the rest of the characters, he was also not found, but then his call came. He arranged my meeting with the UK director and writer Williams. The three of us met for half an hour. I have done two Hollywood movies, out of which one is released and one is yet to be released. I showed them my work. I put my passion for action in front of him. After saying this, Williams was convinced that I was perfect for Murad. He convinced the director by persuading him. Call it luck. I gave many auditions and I understood one thing that no matter how well you do, if the work is not there for you then you will not get it. Ultimately you will get what the almighty has written for you.
Aditya Chopra sir had said to do negative role
I can say that Murad has fulfilled my wishes. Aditya Chopra sir told me that you should do a negative character. Something like that is reflected in your eyes. I get bored playing college going boy and lover boy. I don’t want to do such roles. I had prayed to the almighty that I get such a character, which is negative and has ample scope for action. I can take out all the pain in my life in my character and Murad gave me this opportunity.
character similar to my life
The special thing about this character is that he is not just running after the throne. Actually he wants to get father’s love, which he did not get. There were many such occasions in my life too, when I worked hard but people did not pay attention to it. I was at the forefront but I didn’t get any appreciation from him. Even my friends were not taking my name. Why after all? Exactly like this is Murad, who just wants two sweet words from his father for himself. If it were so, he would not be cruel and angry.
shot all the scenes despite being injured
I got hurt and shed blood and sweat for Murad. I was kicked by the horse, which caused a deep injury near the knee. Despite this, I stood in pain and gave all the scenes. Hundreds of artistes were shooting that fight sequence around me and I didn’t want to disturb it because of me. After shooting for three hours, I went to the hospital for treatment. Swords made of wood sometimes hurt his face and sometimes his neck. I gave all the action scenes in one shot. I had already said that I will do action scenes in one shot. I let out all my fury in my first action series. He put his bone, blood and sweat for Murad.
Dharmendraji’s one hand is equal to my two hands
I rarely met Dharmendraji. Didn’t even get a chance to do any scenes with him. I have been his fan since childhood. I had seen some of his Superman films and that image of him got printed in my mind. Saw his films like ‘Tehelka’, ‘Farishtey’. In one film, he was pulling the plane by holding it. After that I completely fell in love with him. When I met him for the first time, I felt why he is called the Heeman of the industry. His one hand is equal to my two hands. Despite his age, he still looks strong.
My mother had bought some flats in Lucknow. Mummy keeps on coming and going there. I have never been to the city of Nawabs but I think I can come only in March in connection with the shooting of a project. Right now talks are on on that, as soon as all the things are decided, I will come to Lucknow to visit.
Taha Shah, film actor
There is tremendous passion inside Naseer sir.
Whatever can be said about Naseer Saheb, it is less. The dedication he has towards his work is amazing. His approach to acting is alive. Sometimes he was seen reading the script and sometimes memorizing a book or a dialogue. Even after spending so many years in the industry, he does not reveal his seniority to anyone. He shared with us his experience of his Shakespearean play and film Sparsh. I myself wanted him to narrate the experience of ‘Sparsh’ as I too want to play the role of a blind person in future. I got to learn many things from him. He talks like a friend. I wish to work with him in future as well.
Mummy got admission in New York Film Academy
My mom is a single mother. He single-handedly raised my brother and me. After 12th I took admission in the university. I saw that she does all the work alone and I am having fun in college. I left everything and started working with him. For two-three years, I did works like construction, import of cement and steel, but the recession came near 2008-09 and I suffered a big loss. When my money sank, I started going mad. After that, I got a modeling job in between. I gave my photos for modeling 2 years ago and after two years I started getting work. I started enjoying it. At that time the New York Film Academy was opening in Abu Dhabi. I thought that I would develop such a skill in myself that no matter what difficulties come in life, no one can take it away from me. At first I was not taking admission in the academy, but my mother took me by the ear and drove me from Sharjah for three hours to Abu Dhabi. Gave my fees Just from there my acting journey started.
‘Luv Ka The End’ found after 5-6 months in Mumbai
The academy was sending me to Los Angeles for one year’s studies but my mother sent me to Mumbai. By the way, before this, I made everyone crazy about me in the academy with my talent. Those who did not praise me till yesterday, started coming with me. I did all the work like AD, director, lighting, sound. Teachers used to say that you are made for this. I finally found my passion. Before this, no matter how much better I do, no one used to praise me. This was a big change for me. I came to Mumbai and did a course here for a few months. I had already decided that I will not go back without doing any film. After 5-6 months I got ‘Luv Ka The End’ of Yash Raj Banner. I didn’t even know then how big the Yash Raj banner was.
Mother taught not by crying, but by working hard
People used to tell me that nothing happens with auditions etc., but I did not give up. Rejected many times but I did it. No one has given me such work till date. I have achieved everything on the strength of my mother’s blessings and my hard work. Many times my courage broke down and I even cried. This is so many times that if I sit down to count it, it will turn from morning to evening. Mom supported me every time. He said that not by crying, but by working hard. My mother, brother and friend Tushar were very supportive in my life.
