Yusuf Pathan became the captain of a franchise of Delhi Capitals, making a splash in Dubai

Dubai: Yusuf Pathan, the former all-rounder of the Indian cricket team, has been appointed as the captain of the team in a franchise of Delhi Capitals. Although Yusuf has retired from international cricket, he has not been able to keep himself away from the game. This is the reason why Yusuf is still seen playing in franchise league cricket. Yusuf Pathan is playing for Dubai Capitals in the ongoing International League in UAE. Before Yusuf, West Indies’ Rovman Powell had the captaincy but under his leadership the team was facing continuous defeat.

In such a situation, Dubai Capitals has issued a tweet informing that Yusuf will now be the new captain of Dubai Capitals. However, the franchise has not given any clarification regarding the reason why Powell was removed from the captaincy. At the same time, Yusuf is playing the role of the finished finisher of Dubai Capitals and is continuously scoring runs for the team.

Have shown explosive style in IPL

Yusuf Pathan has rocked not only for Team India but also in the Indian Premier League. Pathan has played for Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. In this league, Pathan has played a total of 174 matches, in which he has scored 3204 runs. During this, his strike rate was 143, while his account also included 13 half-centuries along with a century.

However, Pathan has said goodbye to all forms of professional cricket in India to play in foreign leagues. Apart from the ongoing International League in Dubai, Pathan has also played in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Pathan’s career for the Indian team

Yusuf Pathan landed on the field for Team India in ODI and T20 format. Pathan has played 57 ODIs and 22 T20 matches for India. In ODI cricket, Pathan scored 810 runs at a strike rate of 113.6, including two centuries and a half-century. Apart from this, Pathan has 236 runs in T20.

Apart from batting, Pathan has also shown his brilliance in bowling. He has taken 33 wickets in ODI cricket while he has 13 wickets in his account in T20.
