New Delhi: After two years, once again Team India is about to enter the final of the World Test Championship in England. Team India will face Australia on Wednesday 6th June. The venue is the Oval Grounds in London. Two years ago, when Team India played the final against New Zealand in Southampton, the playing XI was announced a day before the match. This time it has not happened but the team’s fast bowler Shardul Thakur has indicated about it.
In the press conference on Tuesday, June 6, a day before the final to be held at the Oval, Team India captain Rohit Sharma was questioned about the playing eleven. As always, Rohit did not make any disclosure this time, nor did he give any indication. Rohit clearly said that the final decision will be taken on the day of the match itself.
Shardul can play in the final!
Even though Rohit did not tell, some names regarding the playing XI are natural. The question is, will there be four fast bowlers or three? Who among Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat will get a chance? Shardul Thakur himself has given hints regarding this. From what Team India’s fast bowling all-rounder Shardul said in a conversation with the ICC before the final, it seems that he is certain to play the final.

Shardul’s interview appeared on the ICC website a day before the final. In this, Shardul Thakur said that the final of an ICC event like the Test Championship final is a once in a lifetime opportunity for him. Shardul said, I just want to fully capitalize on this opportunity. Representing your country is special, especially in India where a billion people dream of playing for the country and only 15 get selected.

Have done wonders in Oval
In fact, what will be the playing XI, it will be known only at the toss on Wednesday at 2.30 pm (Indian time). There is also a possibility of Shardul Thakur playing as he does useful batting along with bowling. Two years ago, he scored half-centuries in both innings against England at the same ground and played a key role in helping India win by taking some important wickets including Joe Root.
