New Delhi, (Hindustan Reporter). The Pakistani team is struggling with health problems in the World Cup and some of their players are suffering from fever. Top fast bowler Shaheen Afridi is also believed to be among the affected players.
According to a statement from the Pakistan team management, some players suffering from fever are now on the road to recovery, while others are still recovering. A spokesperson for the Babar Azam-led team said, “A few players had fever in the last few days and most of them have fully recovered. “Those who are in the recovery stage are under the supervision of the team medical panel.”
The names of the sick players have not been disclosed but it is understood that the players who are unwell include Shaheen, Abdullah Shafiq, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Aga, Mohammad Haris and Zaman Khan.
“There is no viral infection or disease,” the statement said without disclosing the name. “Some players had fever and most have already recovered.”
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that it has filed a complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Ahmedabad crowd for unsportsmanlike conduct on its players in the match against India Is.
The PCB has also expressed its dissatisfaction towards the BCCI for failing to arrange visas for Pakistan fans and not securing timely visas for its journalists.
The PCB statement read, “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged another formal protest with the ICC over the delay in visas for Pakistani journalists and the absence of a visa policy for Pakistan fans for the ongoing World Cup 2023. “
It further said, “PCB has also filed a complaint regarding inappropriate conduct against the Pakistani team during the India vs Pakistan match on 14 October 2023.”
