    East London. A brilliant all-round performance from veteran Deepti Sharma (33 runs and 3/30) and a 30-ball 41 not out on debut from Amanjot Kaur helped India beat South Africa by 27 runs in the opening match of the women’s T20 tri-series. India were 69 for five in the 12th over when Deepti Sharma and Amanjot put on a quickfire 76-run partnership for the sixth wicket, helping India post a competitive 147/6 in their 20 overs against South Africa Make. South Africa women’s team won the toss and elected to bowl first.

    Deepti scored 33 off 23 balls, hitting a four and a six, while Amanjot hit seven fours in his unbeaten 41. Opener Yastika Bhatia scored 35 runs in 34 balls.
