Let us tell you that for the England team chasing the target of 170 runs given by India in the match, Charlie kept the front alone between the falling wickets. At one time Charlie had done such a thing that Team India could have lost the match but, in front of Deepti Sharma’s understanding, all his hard work has gone in vain. In the match, Deepti used Mankading to run out Charlie. Charlie never imagined that she would be out like this.
What is Mankading
There has always been a debate about the rule of Mankading in cricket. Under this rule, when a batsman leaves his crease at the non-striker’s end before the ball is released from the bowler’s hand, in such a situation the bowler can show his intelligence and scatter the balls of the wicket at that batsman’s end. In such a situation, that player outside the crease is considered out. In fact, this rule prohibits the desire of the batter to complete his run as quickly as possible or to take two runs so as to stop the undue advantage given to the batting team while taking the run.
Mankading was first used in 1948, when Indian great Vinoo Mankad dismissed Australian wicketkeeper Bill Brown at the other end. He had also warned the batsman earlier. After this incident, the Australian media named it Mankading.
