Mhambrey praised the team’s young fast bowlers including Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh and veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
He said, “I am very happy with the ability shown by these bowlers. In the last two matches, Arshdeep and Avesh have shown their ability to perform well under pressure conditions, which I am very happy about.
“I am very impressed by how much they want to learn every day and improve their game,” Mhambrey said. When you are the coach the communication is two-way. This makes communication easier.
“Yes, we use different strategies with different players. We have Jasprit Bumrah who is not playing here. We have Mohammed Shami. But I see it as an opportunity for the young bowlers to prove themselves.
Mhambrey heaped praise on 23-year-old Arshdeep Singh, who took one for 26 in his four overs in the second match against West Indies.
“I have been observing his performance for a long time, especially in the IPL. His biggest trait is his ability to perform well under pressure. He bowls first in the powerplay and then in the death overs as well.
