Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir said, ‘He was equal to Virat Kohli. Should be a joint man of the series. He was an exceptional bowler and bowled exceptionally well on suitable batting pitches. I know you always go for player of the series awards to the batsmen, but Siraj was absolutely exceptional, he was getting better in every match.
In the three-match series, Virat Kohli scored 283 runs with the help of two centuries. During this his strike rate was 137.38. On the other hand Siraj took 9 wickets. In the last ODI, he sealed Sri Lanka’s defeat in the first 10 overs itself.
