Pollard became the third batsman to hit six sixes in an over in international cricket. Before Pollard, Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa and Yuvraj Singh of India have done this. Gibbs was the first batsman to do so in international cricket. He did this in an over against the Netherlands in the 2007 World Cup. After this, Yuvraj Singh hit six sixes in one over of Stuart Broad in the World T20 against England.
Kieron Pollard was dismissed after scoring 38 runs off 11 balls. He played a key role in helping West Indies win by four wickets against Sri Lanka. West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first in this match. The Sri Lankan team could only manage 131 runs for nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For that, Pratham Nissanka scored maximum 39 runs. At the same time, Obek McCoy took the maximum two wickets for the West Indies.
In response, West Indies made a very quick start. West Indies completed fifty runs in the fourth over. Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis did a great job. In the same over, Akila Dhananjay took a hat-trick by dismissing Lewis, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran in successive deliveries. However, in the very next over, Pollard completed the task by hitting six sixes. Now that this batsman has retired from IPL, this destructive batsman will not be able to wreak havoc on the bowlers on the field.
