Former Indian cricket team opener Wasim Jaffer has insulted former England captain Michael Vaughan. Jaffer tried to take ‘revenge’ on social media on Tuesday by reminding Vaughan of his old tweet against Team India two years ago.
Australia beat England by an innings and 14 runs on the third day of the Melbourne Test to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match Ashes series. Playing ahead of their yesterday’s (second) day’s score of 31 runs for 4 wickets, England were bowled out for 68 runs.
Earlier, in reply to England’s 185 in the first innings, Australia scored 267 runs and took an 82-run lead. Ben Stokes was bowled by Mitchell Starc in the 5th over. The 32-year-old Boland sent Jonny Bairstow to the pavilion in the first over. After this, world number two Test batsman Joe Root (28) became his victim in the second over.
Mark Wood and Ollie Robinson were dismissed in their third over and both could not even open the account. Cameron Green bowled James Anderson 27. Ended England’s second innings in 4 overs. Boland took seven wickets for 55 runs in the match. He is the second indigenous player to play a Test for the Australian men’s team. He was awarded the Johnny Mulag Medal of the Player of the Match for this performance.
When the Indian team went on a tour of New Zealand in 2019, it was bundled out for 92 runs in ODIs. Vaughan then tweeted, ‘India all out on 92… Can’t believe any team can be all out in 100s today!!!!!!’
Now that England were bundled out for 68 in the second innings of the Boxing Day Test on Tuesday, Jaffer had a golden opportunity to settle the score with Vaughan. Jaffer uploaded a video on his official Twitter handle tagging Vaughn. The video contained a two-year-old video of Michael Vaughan, on which the English veteran trolled Team India.
Seeing this video of Jafar, even Vaughan could not stop himself from answering. Vaughan tweeted, ‘Very good Wasim.’ This is not the first time that Jaffer has slammed Vaughan. Even before this, this former Test opener of India has trolled Vaughan many times.
