Raipur: The Indian team defeated the New Zealand team by one-sided 8 wickets in the second ODI at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Batting first, the visiting team scored 108 runs losing all wickets in 34.3 overs. In response, Team India achieved the target in T20 style by scoring 111 runs losing 2 wickets in 20.1 overs. For that, captain Rohit Sharma scored 51 runs in 50 balls hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes.
During his innings, the six hit by Lockie Ferguson, one of the fastest bowlers in the world in the current era, was the center of discussion. Captain Rohit hit the fourth ball of the 5th over for a six over fine leg. Ferguson’s ball had a speed of 151 kilometers per hour and got a lot of bounce, but Rohit is Rohit. He hangs the ball in the air while hitting a hook shot.
Actually, Rohit used Ferguson’s pace against him. The ball went straight in the air and fell outside the boundary. Ferguson just watched as a spectator. On the other hand, Rohit’s shot was being praised in the commentary box. Former batting coach Sanjay Bangar was saying that Rohit knows what kind of shot to play on such a ball. He used the pace of the bowler and the result was 6 runs.
Rohit Sharma, however, got out lbw to Shipley after scoring a half-century. But by then Team India had reached close to victory. His wicket fell on 72 runs. After this Virat Kohli was dismissed for 11 runs, but Shubman Gill and Ishaan Kishan gave victory to Team India. Gill played an unbeaten inning of 40 runs, while Kishan remained unbeaten on 8 runs.
