In Australia’s Big Bash (BBL 2021) T20 league tournament, New Zealand’s explosive batsman Colin Munro has equaled the record of Indian captain Virat Kohli, scoring a brilliant century. Munro’s scintillating innings helped Perth Scorchers beat Adelaide Strikers by 49 runs to register their second consecutive win in BBL 2021.
Perth Scorchers captain Ashton Turner won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening pair of Colin Munro and Cameron Bancroft (45) gave the team a quick start. Both added 132 runs in 15.3 overs. Munro played an unbeaten 114 off 73 balls which included 8 fours and 6 sixes.

New Zealand batsman Munro completed his century in 69 balls. This is Munro’s 5th century in T20 cricket. With this, Munro equaled Kohli’s 5 centuries. West Indies’ explosive opener Chris Gayle is at number one in terms of scoring the most centuries in T20 cricket. Gayle has scored 22 centuries in the shortest format of cricket.
Biggest innings played by Perth Scorchers
This is the biggest innings by a batsman for Perth Scorchers in the history of Big Bash League. Earlier, Craig Simmons had scored 112 runs in 58 balls, which was the biggest innings of any batsman in this team. Simmons is now second in this list while Michael Klinger (105 *) is at number three.
