Venkatesh Iyer on the floor from the floor … who thought that such a day would be seen after a century

New Delhi:Venkatesh Iyer for Kolkata Knight Riders batted well in the last match against Mumbai Indians. Iyer had scored a century even after injuring his knee. He became only the second batsman in IPL history to score a century for KKR. Iyer scored 104 off 51 balls at the Wankhede Stadium. This innings included 6 fours and 9 sixes. After the century, he also got the Orange Cap.

Iyer could not open account

Kolkata Knight Riders are facing Delhi Capitals in the 28th match of IPL 2023. Delhi captain David Warner won the toss and decided to bowl first. Liton Das was dismissed on the last ball of the second over and Venkatesh Iyer came to the crease at number three. But his innings ended in just two balls. Enrich Nortje took his wicket.

Nortje, one of the fastest bowlers in the IPL, bowled the ball on the off-stump. He was going out leaving Iyer. He tried to cover drive it with the batfoot. But the ball took the outside edge of the bat and went into the hands of Mitchell Marsh fielding in the slips. He caught the ball falling on the left and sent Iyer to the pavilion.

KKR could only score 127 runs

Delhi Capitals bundled out Kolkata Knight Riders for 127 runs in a rain-curtailed match. Jason Roy scored the highest 43 runs for KKR. Caribbean batsman Andre Russell (38 off 31 balls) tried to get KKR a respectable score by hitting three sixes in the last over. Ishant Sharma, Enrich Norkia, Kuldeep Yadav and Akshar Patel took two wickets each for Delhi.
