Big news has come for India from Tokyo Olympics. Female badminton player PV Sindhu has reached the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics. He made it to the last-4 place in the second consecutive Olympics. Sindhu defeated Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-13, 22-20 in straight games to reach the semi-finals. PV Sindhu won the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. If she wins another match, her medal will be confirmed. In such a situation, she will become the first player from India to win two medals in badminton.
The first point of the match went to the host player Akane Yamaguchi. After this the score was tied at 2-2. Yamaguchi then took a 4-2 lead. The score then went in favor of Yamaguchi 5-3, 6-4, 6-5. Sindhu got a 7-6 lead for the first time. After this he did not give a chance to Yamaguchi. After this Sindhu was ahead 8-6, 8-7, 9-7, 10-7, 11-7. PV Sindhu will face Tai Tzu Ying or Ratnachok Intanon in the semi-finals on Saturday 31 July. The fourth quarter-final of this event is to be held between Tai Tzu of Taiwan and Intanon of Thailand.
